1st DAY Istanbul - Bari (Matera Tour) Meeting in front of the Turkish Airlines counter at the International Departures terminal of Istanbul Airport. After luggage and ticket procedures, we depart for Bari on a scheduled Turkish Airlines flight. Arrival in Bari local time. Together with our guide and our private vehicle waiting for us, we start our Bari city tour. During the tour, we will visit Basilica Di San Nicola, the port, and Bari Cathedral among other sights. After the tour, we will proceed to our hotel, check-in, and have free time. Guests who wish can join us for an additional Matera (75€) tour. We arrive in Matera, named the 2019 European Capital of Culture, located in the Basilicata region of Southern Italy and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This city, known as "Sassi di Matera," has caves and tuff rock formations hollowed out on both sides of the Gravina Canyon valley since prehistoric times. Its status as an ancient city, living conditions, and appearance have drawn the attention of Hollywood filmmakers. Consequently, films like Pasolini's "The Gospel According to Saint Matthew," Ferrara's "Mary," Beresford's "King David," Hardwicke's "The Nativity Story," and Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" have been shot here. Additionally, it has also hosted films by Ferzan Özpetek. After our guided tour, we will return to our hotel. Guests who wish can participate in the extra Puglia Triangle tour, consisting of Alberobello & Castellana Grotte & Polignano a Mare (145€). First, we will head to Alberobello. UNESCO World Heritage-listed since 1995, Alberobello will enchant you with its differently shaped white houses and roofs. The Trulli houses are built by stacking stones without mortar. During the reign of the king, as the housing tax was significantly increased, people built their houses this way so that when royal officials came for inspections, they could pull a cord inside the house to collapse the conical roof. We continue our tour to the Castellana Caves, known as the world's oldest cave system. The cave system comprises limestone known as calcium carbonate and rock, extending 3348 meters and reaching depths of 122 meters. Our next destination is the coastal town of Polignano a Mare. When we reach the beach through the narrow streets of the town, the high cliffs and the bright white houses against the backdrop of the deep blue bay welcome us. Nestled among ancient olive trees, this city combines art, history, and natural beauty perfectly, enchanting you with its Baroque architecture. During our tour, we will visit notable sites including the Palazzo Ducale, San Martino Church, and St. Anthony Church. Next, we will proceed to Ostuni. With an 8 km coastal strip and abundant olive and grape trees, this charming Italian town, with a population of 32,000, relies heavily on tourism. During our tour, we will see Mediterranean architectural examples, whitewashed houses, narrow streets, arched passageways, and spiral stairways among many other interesting details. The last stop of the day is the historical city of Monopoli, one of the most beautiful towns in the Puglia region, located on the Adriatic Sea. During our visit, we will explore the Piazza Settembre, the colorful permanent market, the Monopoli Cathedral, and the Bell Tower located in the heart of the historic city center. After our tour, we will return to our hotel. In this tour, you will be able to enjoy the sea, sun, and sand while also experiencing history and capturing postcard-like views. We begin our tour in the beautiful Mediterranean town of Sorrento, built on the cliffs. Accompanied by your guide, you will explore the area and be amazed by the lemon trees and the sparkling sea. After our visit, we proceed to Positano, a renowned town with colorful houses and steep descents to the sea, where we pause at a panoramic terrace for photos. Then we head towards Amalfi. Named after a figure from Greek mythology, this town has played a significant role as a port throughout history. The main attraction in the town is the Sant'Andrea Cathedral, which is located in Piazza Flavio Gioia, and it is one of the primary sights to explore in the town. Overnight accommodation at our hotel. 6th DAY Amalfi Coast – Istanbul (Naples & Pompeii Tour) After breakfast and checking out of the hotel, those who wish can join us for the additional half-day Naples & Pompeii (125€) tour. In this tour, we will visit Pompeii, one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. Pompeii lies at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, which erupted in 79 A.D., destroying the city. Following extensive excavations that began in 1748, archaeologists unearthed the city in all its vibrancy. Seen on the tour will be the Basilica, Forum, the House of Faun, restaurants, baths, and bakeries. The tour will continue with the Naples tour, where we will see notable places such as the Royal Palace built in the 16th century, the San Carlo Theatre, the famous cafes and shops of Umberto I Gallery, the San Francesco Di Paolo Church inspired by Rome's Pantheon, Plebiscito Square, and Angiovino Castle.
