After about a half-hour journey on the sea, we begin our walking tour of this island named after Venice’s patron saint. Apart from the large canal called the Canale Grande, many artificial canals were also built, allowing easy access deep into the island from the sea. Today, because of these canals, you will cross many bridges while exploring the island. In this beautiful place, which holds history in every corner, some of the things we will see are the Doge’s Palace, the prison, the Bridge of Sighs, St. Mark’s Basilica, which contains some artifacts brought from Istanbul, St. Mark’s Square, the bell tower, the astronomical clock, and the Rialto Bridge. After this wonderful tour, where we will find ourselves in different realms through our guide’s narratives, there will be free time. During free time, you may browse shops selling Murano glass items, buy from the many types of masks associated with Venice, sit in pleasant cafés and sip your drinks to the accompaniment of live orchestra music, or taste seafood cuisine. Guests who wish may join the optional Gondola tour, a must in Venice (30 Euro). This dreamlike journey through the canals lasts about half an hour and is an unforgettable experience that everyone should live at least once. (Gondolas are for 6 people, and the stated price is per person. However, if desired by our guests, a special gondola tour can be arranged for couples, with music accompaniment if requested. For such special requests, you can get special prices from our guide.) After free time, we meet at the time and place given by our guide and return to Troncetto by private vaporetto, then continue our tour by bus. During the free time we will give here, we especially recommend visiting the leather market and tasting Florence’s delicious meats. After free time, we meet at the place and time indicated by our guide and head to another medieval wonder. When we arrive in Siena, famous worldwide for the horse races called Palio, you will truly feel as if you have been transported back to the Middle Ages during our walking tour. Although every part of Italy is beautiful, you will never forget Siena. As we walk through its winding streets, the Campo Square will welcome us with the Mangia Tower and Palazzo Pubblico. The Siena Cathedral located just behind the square is also one of the structures that must be seen for its architecture. After our walking tour, during which we will see many more works, you may buy flags representing Siena’s districts and eat or drink something light at the cafés around the square during the free time. After free time, we meet with our guide and walk to the point where our bus will pick us up. Our current destination is the capital, Rome. Upon arrival in this historically rich city, once the capital of one of the most important empires in history, our first stop will be Castel Sant’Angelo and its bridge, mentioned by Dan Brown in his books and once used to imprison Cem Sultan. Then we visit Navona Square, which was once used as a stadium for races during the imperial period and today retains the same structural plan but is surrounded by houses and a magnificent church, and where various artists perform in the evenings. With the Four Rivers Fountain in the square and the church made by Bernini just behind it, this square will enchant you. This important point, also known as the artists’ square, is now highly frequented by painting, mime, and music artists. After taking our photos here, we go to the Pantheon, one of the oldest structures in the city. After hearing the story of this time-defying building from our guide, there will be free time. You can have your dinner at one of the many restaurants around. Pizza, pasta, or seafood are just some of the options. After receiving information from our guide about the basilica’s construction process, the square, its architects, important sculpture groups on and inside the structure, the papal assassination, and many other topics, we take our photos during the free time given and, if the church visit is open, complete our visit and leave Vatican. Our next plan is the Rome city tour. We begin our walking tour with the Colosseum to explore Rome, where every stone you step on bears a trace of history. We see the structure we photographed at night again in daylight. After listening to the story of this magnificent structure, where hundreds of people lost their lives, from our guide, we pass by the Roman Forum and reach Venice Square at the end of the road we walk. From this square, where the Vittorio Emanuele II monument is also located, we follow Via Del Corso and then see Trevi Fountain (the Fountain of Love), the Four Prophets monument, the Spanish Steps, and Popolo Square, among others during this tour. The city is so rich in historical texture that you can discover a new detail at every corner. After our walking tour, there will be free time. We strongly recommend tasting the Italian ice cream and handmade pasta that Rome is famous for. Also, be sure to ask your guide where the city’s best tiramisu can be found. After the tour and free time, we meet at the time specified by our guide and depart for Naples. Upon arrival, be prepared to encounter a different side of Italy from what we have seen so far. However, its people are very warm and sincere. During our tour here, some of the places we will see are Umberto I Gallery, Castel Nuovo, Naples Cathedral, and the port.
